Im probably late to the party where hammocks are concerned as ive always been a ground dweller but back 2 years ago i bought a cheap amazon Covacure hammock and a stand for the garden. Around the same time i got taken seriously poorly and hammocking in the wild was well out of my reach. The hammock stand came into its own, while i was waiting for my appointment at Gastroentorology to rule out bowel cancer i spent alot of time in my hammock in the garden listening to the birds, reading and generally taking care of my self.
Last christmas i had the Nightcat 3 in 1 hammock which i still havnt used yet, this year now im feeling better and managing my IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) its my goal to get out more in the trees i also Rheumatoid Arthritis and ive been told that being off the floor will be better for my joints, i will always love tents but comfort is my main priority at the moment and a decent nights sleep in the great outdoors.
My other issue is the dogs… One dont sleep and the other is a velcro staffy lol. Now most of the time the non sleeping frenchie wont be with me as he sufferes with walking and his breathing so he stays home, but the staffy well she is with me most of the time and its always be a wonder on how she would cope when im in the hammock and whether she would just sleep underneath.
The weather so far this year has been shocking but then again in Wales its nothing unusual, so when the weather turned out very warm and no chance if rain i saw the perfect opportunity to get out and practice in the hammock. The non sleeping french bulldog never slept and the velcro staffy cried yet wouldnt jump in hammock and then out of the blue she jumps in with such a force that the hammock was swinging that much i thought i was going to tip out lol, after a while the rocking stopped and the dog settled and we were finally dropping off to sleep.
The adventure continues
